To All Who Feel Empty

Updated: Jan 27, 2022

Come, everyone who thirsts, come to the waters; and he who has no money, come, buy and eat! Come, buy wine and milk. without money and without price. Why do you spend your money for that which is not bread, and your labor for that which does not satisfy? Listen diligently to me, and eat what is good, and delight yourselves in rich food. Incline your ear, and come to me; hear, that your soul may live; and I will make with you an everlasting covenant, my steadfast, sure love for David. (Isaiah 55:1–3)

Do you feel an emptiness within you? Are you exhausted? This passage from the Bible is a beautiful invitation for all those who are emotionally thirsty and hungry, longing for peace and joy. It’s for everyone who feels empty, exhausted, bored, insecure, frustrated, stressed, impatient, disappointed, hurt, fearful and anxious.

Augustine once said this: “You have made us for Yourself, O Lord, and our hearts are restless until they find their rest in you”. The God of the universe, the one created the starry skies and vast oceans and all the creatures within, including you and I, invites us to find true rest in Him. Are you sitting at the world’s table, always left hungry and disappointed?God invites you by his grace to his table, to his feast.
